NREC news update

It was reported at last night’s NREC Board meeting that the financial situation of the organisation is now stable and a balanced budget for 2019/20 has been agreed. Whilst this has been achieved by reducing staff hours it is hoped that a funding bid that is currently being considered, if successful, my result in a reversal of these cuts.

Programmes of equality work in Wellingborough, Kettering and Corby have been agreed under service level agreements with local councils. Unfortunately two funding bids to Northampton Borough Council were not successful.

The AGM of the REC will be held on Wednesday July 27th from 6.30 at Wellingborough African Caribbean Centre, Rock Street. All welcome. Six new Board members will need be elected. More information about the AGM will be available shortly – watch this space.
